Chico Water Towers
The Chico Water Towers at Orient and 3rd Street in Chico, CA are an enduring symbol of central Chico history. Built by the Chicago Bridge & Iron Works to handle a population boom driven by the Diamond Match Lumber Company, the eastern tower went up first in 1905 with a 125,000-gallon capacity and stand at 80 feet tall. The larger western tower followed in 1913, holding 152,000 gallons. The eastern beams are stamped with "Carnegie," while the western ones bear the "Jones & Laughlin" mark, showing they were sourced from rival steel giants of the era. You can find these just East of the Saturday Morning Farmer's Market Parking Lot. Enjoy the View. Shop Chico Water Tower Products below!
